Autumnal equinox
|
- America’s Stonehenge - in Salem, New Hampshire; celebrate the equinox September 22, 2005 at America's Stonehenge
- Autumn Page
- Autumnal Equinox [St. Cloud State University]
- Looking Around
- Project Equinox - poems for world peace by 250 poets from 24 nations. All poems written and emailed to the website on the same day, the
autumnal equinox, 1996
- The Equinox occurs the instant at which the center of the Sun crosses declination 0, when the length of night time is equal to the length of daytime. The Earth is orderly but not balanced,
usually, so this balance of light and dark, night and day, is an unusual moment in time
- In the northern hemisphere, it is around September 21 - 23 when the Sun crosses the celestial equator (the projection of the Earth's equator onto the sky) moving southward. The autumnal
equinox marks the first day of the season of Autumn
- In the southern hemisphere, it is around March 21 when the center of the sun crosses the celestial equator moving northward; it occurs on vernal equinox of the northern hemisphere (beginning of
Spring)
